Bena Charity for Human Development concluded its field training sessions for farmers this April as part of the “Rural Agricultural Development” project, supported by Pure Hands.
The program targeted 40 farmers, including 36 men and 4 women, from five agricultural villages in Taiz Governorate: Al-Mahaini and Al-Maeen villages in Bani Issa Sub-district (Jabal Habashi District), Mukhiza village (Bilad Al-Wafi – Jabal Habashi District), and Al-Kadam and Al-Saheliya villages in Al-Kulaiba Sub-district (Al-Ma’afer District).
The training focused on enhancing farmers’ skills to boost productivity and increase income. Participants were trained in modern agricultural practices, including drip irrigation techniques to conserve water, the use of mulch and agricultural nets to protect soil and crops, the production of organic fertilizers (such as compost and natural liquid fertilizers), and natural methods for pest and disease control as alternatives to chemical pesticides.
This initiative aims to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agricultural development in rural communities across Taiz.
