The General Assembly — the highest authority of Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) — held its 8th regular session this morning under the title: “The Late Founder Mohammed Ali Ismail Session”, at the Al-Ruwad University Hall in Taiz Governorate. The meeting was attended by more than two-thirds of the members, along with Mr. Abdu Ali, Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in the governorate.
The meeting began with verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech from the President of BCFHD, Dr. Abdulkarim Shamsan, in which he welcomed the attendees and thanked them for their loyalty and presence. He praised the vital role of the General Assembly in promoting transparency and guiding the organization’s direction. He gave special mention to the late founder, Mr. Mohammed Ali Ismail, who played a pivotal role in laying the foundation of the organization.
The session included a presentation of the general report on the organization’s key activities during the previous period, highlighting its geographic expansion, strengthened partnerships with donors, and qualitative progress in areas such as food security, education, health, and the empowerment of women and youth. Financial, administrative, and legal auditor reports were reviewed, along with the report from the Oversight Committee. The reports were extensively discussed by the members in a constructive consultative atmosphere, and were eventually approved and ratified.
With the previous board’s term having ended, the Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office announced the opening of nominations for a new administrative board. The new board was formed as follows:
