Today, Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) officially handed over the rehabilitated water supply network at the Al-Haraziya Al-Sufla and Al-Harathi IDP hosting sites, along with the rehabilitated sanitation network in the Bazarah area, to the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Salah District, Taiz Governorate. This initiative falls within BCFHD’s efforts to enhance sustainable access to water and sanitation services in internally displaced persons (IDP) hosting sites, and to ensure continuity of service through transferring operations and management responsibilities to the relevant authorities for effective and sustainable operation.
This activity is part of the project titled:
“IDPs Sites Management and Coordination and Provision of Lifesaving WASH and Shelter Assistance (Salh-Taiz) and Protection Assistance (AIMukha and Mawza – West Coast) to Vulnerable IDPs and HC”, funded by Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).
This intervention aims to mitigate health and environmental risks faced by displaced families and host communities due to inadequate water and sanitation services, and to provide a safer and healthier environment through the improvement of basic infrastructure in hosting sites and surrounding areas.
The handover ceremony was attended by local authorities and key stakeholders, including:

In parallel with the handover, the Deputy Governor, the District Director, and several officials and representatives of attending organizations conducted a field visit to inspect the ongoing paving works of the access road to the Al-Haraziya Al-Ulya and Al-Haraziya Al-Sufla IDP sites in Salah District. The visit aimed to review the progress and final stages of the road paving activity, which is part of the interventions designed to improve infrastructure and enhance access to IDP hosting sites in Salah District – Taiz Governorate.
