Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) held today a special event to celebrate World Children’s Day under the theme “My Day… My Rights” at the association’s Community Center. The event was organized as part of the activities of the project “Enhancing Resilience through the Provision of Lifesaving Assistance Multi-Sectoral (FSAC, WASH, Protection, and CCCM) to Vulnerable IDPs and Host Communities in Al Qahirah, Maqbanah, and Ash Shamayatayn Districts,”, funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).
The celebration coincided with the visit of Mr. Julien Harneis, the Resident Representative of the Yemen Humanitarian Fund in Yemen, accompanied by Mr. Son Tost. During the visit, the delegation reviewed the child-focused activities implemented at the center and was briefed on the services provided to displaced children and host community members in the targeted areas.
The event highlighted the meaning of the theme “My Day… My Rights” through recreational and awareness activities aimed at instilling the principles of child rights and raising children’s awareness of their right to education, protection, play, and living in a safe environment. The activities also supported children’s psychological well-being and strengthened their sense of safety and belonging.
During the visit, the YHF delegation toured the Community Center, engaging with children and staff members, and expressed their appreciation for BCFHD’s efforts in providing safe spaces and integrated programs for children as part of the multi-sectoral interventions in the targeted districts.
Through this event, BCFHD reaffirms its continued commitment to protecting children and safeguarding their rights, while providing safe environments and quality activities that contribute to developing their abilities. BCFHD also extends its gratitude to the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) and supporting partners for their ongoing support and confidence in its programs and community-focused projects.
