Training the field survey team for the project to empower out-of-school children

As part of the project “Empowering Out of School Children (OOSC) and Children at Risk of Dropping Out (CRDO) through formal and non-formal education, child protection and psychosocial support (PSS) services in four districts of Taiz Governorate, Yemen”, implemented by War Child Alliance in partnership with Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) and supported by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), BCFHD conducted a training session for the field survey team on mechanisms for identifying and monitoring children who are out of school or at risk of dropout in the targeted districts.

The training aimed to equip the survey team with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify the most vulnerable groups and update data related to out-of-school children, in addition to strengthening their capacities in the use of data collection tools and the standards adopted for field verification processes.

The training covered guidelines on completing assessment forms, handling sensitive cases, and conducting field visits, along with instructions on professional ethics and ensuring the confidentiality of information.

The field survey constitutes a key component of the project’s plan to reintegrate out-of-school children into compensatory education programs, improve their access to psychosocial support services, and enhance community efforts to reduce dropout rates and support education in emergency contexts.
