BCFHD Launches the First Distribution of Emergency Livelihood Cash Assistance in Maqbanah District with Support from (YHF).

Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) has launched today the first distribution of emergency cash assistance linked to livelihood activities based on livestock production, targeting 60 of the most vulnerable households in Maqbanah District – Al-Ashamila sub-district, Taiz Governorate. This activity is implemented under the project:
“Enhancing Resilience through the Provision of Lifesaving Assistance Multi-Sectoral (FSAC, WASH, Protection, and CCCM) to Vulnerable IDPs and Host Communities in Al Qahirah, Maqbanah, and Ash Shamayatayn Districts”, funded by Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).

This intervention is part of the project’s Food Security and Agriculture (FSAC) component and aims to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable and conflict-affected households by supporting livestock-based livelihood activities, improving their food security and income levels, and helping them better cope with the challenging humanitarian situation.

The first distribution of cash assistance seeks to:
• Enable targeted households to protect the livestock assets they have received through the project’s livelihood activities.
• Support households in accessing fodder and essential veterinary services to improve livestock productivity and ensure sustainability.
• Enhance household self-reliance and reduce vulnerability to economic and humanitarian shocks.

Mr. Suleiman Al-Samadi, Project Manager at BCFHD, explained that this distribution represents a practical step within a comprehensive package of multi-sectoral interventions implemented across Al-Qahirah, Maqbanah, and Ash Shamayatayn districts. He affirmed the association’s commitment to Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and to integrating protection and gender principles throughout all stages of implementation, from targeting to monitoring and evaluation.

BCFHD also expressed its gratitude to the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) for its generous support, which enabled the implementation of this vital intervention in one of the most affected and underserved areas. The association reaffirmed its dedication to working closely with partners, local authorities, and community committees to ensure assistance reaches the most vulnerable displaced and host community households.

BCFHD continues to implement a wide range of programs in the sectors of food security and livelihoods, WASH, protection, and camp coordination and camp management (CCCM), contributing to improving the living conditions of vulnerable families and enhancing their resilience amid ongoing crises.
