BCFHD Concludes Training for Community Structures Supporting Child Protection on Prevention and Community-Based Response Strategies

Bena charity for Human Development (BCFHD) concluded on Thursday, January 1, 2026, a specialized training program targeting community structures supporting child protection in Al-Mawaset, Al-Ma’afer, and Maqbanah districts of Taiz Governorate. The training focused on prevention and community-based response strategies for child protection, including community awareness approaches and the implementation of child-friendly and safe activities, aiming to reduce child protection risks within targeted communities.

This training was conducted as part of the “Integrated Response Project addressing nutrition and protection needs in crisis-affected areas”, implemented in partnership with Save the Children and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada.

The program was delivered over six days, with two days allocated to each targeted district, and engaged 53 participants (male and female) from community structures. It aimed to strengthen participants’ capacities to identify child protection risks, implement effective preventive activities, raise community awareness on child rights, and support safe community-based referral mechanisms and early identification of at-risk cases.

This activity comes as part of joint efforts to enhance child protection services in the most affected areas and to reaffirm the pivotal role of local communities in safeguarding children and fostering a safe and supportive environment that ensures their well-being and healthy development amid ongoing humanitarian challenges.
