Bena Charity Launches Compensatory Education Classes for Out-of-School Children in Mawza’a District, Taiz Governorate.

Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) has launched the opening of compensatory education classes for out-of-school children in Mawza’a District, Taiz Governorate, as part of the project “Empowering Out of School Children (OOSC) and Children at Risk of Dropping Out (CRDO) through formal and non-formal education, child protection and psychosocial support (PSS) services in five districts of Taiz Governorate, Yemen”, implemented in partnership with War Child and supported by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO).

The inauguration was attended by Mr. Yousuf Ghalib, Head of the Guidance Division at the Education Office, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Director of the Education Office in Mawza’a District, underscoring the importance of supporting compensatory education pathways as effective solutions to address school dropout and ensure children’s right to education, particularly amid the challenging humanitarian context in the governorate.

During the opening ceremony, school bags were distributed to the students enrolled in the compensatory education classes, as part of the project’s education pathways aimed at creating a supportive learning environment and encouraging children to re-engage and continue their education.

The attendees highlighted the significance of such interventions in reintegrating out-of-school children into the education system and enhancing their access to safe and inclusive learning opportunities, commending the efforts of Bena Charity and its partners in supporting the education sector and mitigating the impact of conflict on children and communities.

The launch of the compensatory education classes in Mawza’a District is part of a series of activities being implemented across the targeted districts in Taiz Governorate, reflecting Bena Charity’s and its partners’ commitment to promoting Education in Emergencies as a fundamental pillar for protection, recovery, and building a better future for children.
