Bena Charity Hands Over the Work Site to the Implementing Contractor for the Rehabilitation of Wadi Arafah Water Project in Ash Shamayatayn District.

Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) has handed over the project work site to the implementing contractor to commence the rehabilitation works of the Wadi Arafah Water Project, aiming to supply water to the Qahfat Arafah and Barraqah IDP hosting sites in Ash Shamayatayn District, Taiz Governorate, with funding from the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).

The handover ceremony was attended by Eng. Tareq Razzaz, Director General of Rural Water at the Governorate; Mr. Sabri Al-Zuraiqi, Director of the Director General’s Office; and Mr. Osam Al-Mashraqi, Director of the Executive Unit for IDPs. The event was also attended by Mr. Fouad Al-Yousfi, Vice Chairman of Bena Charity, Mr. Suleiman Al-Samadi, Project Manager at BCFHD, in addition to the project team.

This activity is implemented under the project “Enhancing Resilience through the Provision of Lifesaving Multi-Sectoral Assistance (Food Security and Agriculture, WASH, Protection, and Camp Coordination and Camp Management) to Vulnerable IDPs and Host Communities in Al-Qahirah, Maqbanah, and Ash Shamayatayn Districts, Taiz Governorate,”

The project is expected to contribute to improving the level of basic services and enhancing the health and living conditions of displaced families and host community members in the targeted sites, thereby reducing health risks associated with water scarcity and promoting the dignity of beneficiaries.

Through this intervention, Bena Charity reaffirms its ongoing commitment to coordinating with relevant government authorities and local partners to implement quality interventions that help alleviate the suffering of affected communities and strengthen their resilience amid the current humanitarian challenges.
