Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) conducted a specialized training workshop titled “Fundamentals of Climate Change and Carbon Footprint”, targeting 20 participants from the organization’s staff and its partners from civil society organizations working in the field of environment and climate change. The workshop comes as part of the organization’s efforts to enhance environmental awareness and strengthen institutional capacities.
The two-day workshop was facilitated by trainer Ryan Abbas, focusing on equipping participants with key concepts related to climate change, carbon footprint, and their impacts on the environment and local communities, in addition to highlighting major environmental challenges.
The workshop aimed to build participants’ capacities and develop their knowledge and skills in understanding and analyzing climate change issues, contributing to improving the quality of humanitarian and development interventions while ensuring they are environmentally sensitive and climate-responsive.
It also included interactive sessions and practical exercises that enabled participants to better apply the acquired knowledge in designing and implementing sustainable projects that consider environmental protection and climate adaptation.
