BCFHD Launches Training Course for Health Workers and Hygiene Volunteers at Al-Jumhuri Hospital in Taiz.

Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) has launched a training course for for (DTC) staff and hygiene promotion volunteers-Taiz City. The four-day course is being held at Al-Jumhuri Hospital as part of Emergency Response to the AWD/Cholera Outbreak in Taiz Governorate, funded by the International Rescue Committee (IRC).

The launch was attended by:

Mr. Fouad Al-Yousfi – Deputy Chairman of BCFHD
Mr. Tariq Al-Hammadi – Executive Director of BCFHD
Dr. Fouad Al-Haddad – General Director of Al-Jumhuri Hospital in Taiz
Dr. Fahd Al-Nidari – Director General of the Public Health and Population Office in Taiz Governorate

In his opening speech, Mr. Fouad Al-Yousfi welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of this training in enhancing the capacity of health workers and volunteers to respond effectively to the cholera outbreak, which is spreading alarmingly across many districts in Taiz. He also appreciated the swift support of the IRC and the active partnership with the Health Office.

Dr. Fouad Al-Haddad expressed his gratitude to BCFHD and IRC for the prompt implementation of this vital project, which contributes to reducing mortality and illness rates, especially among vulnerable and marginalized groups.

Concluding the launch, Dr. Fahd Al-Nadhari delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to BCFHD and IRC for the rapid emergency response. He confirmed that the project falls within the emergency plan of the Health Office in the governorate and called for extending the implementation period of the project and increasing support in terms of medicines, supplies, and medical equipment, in addition to continuing community awareness activities.
