Bena charity for Human Development (BCFHD), in coordination with the Public Health and Population Office in Taiz Governorate, organized a community awareness event in Maqbanah District to mark World Breastfeeding Week. The activity comes as part of the Integrated Response Project addressing nutrition and protection needs in crisis-affected areas, implemented in partnership with Save the Children and funded by Global Affairs Canda-International Humanitarian Assistance.
The event was hosted at Al-Huda School in Himear Sub-district and featured awareness-raising speeches, poetic and musical performances, as well as traditional theatrical sketches that highlighted the importance of breastfeeding and its vital role in protecting children and promoting their healthy growth and development.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Hameed Al-Khulidi, Director General of the District, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Humairee, Director of the Health Office in the District, and Mr. Aseed Al-Humairee, Community Health and Nutrition Volunteers Officer. Also present were directors of health centers, medical staff, social figures, community health and nutrition volunteers, along with BCFHD and Save the Children project teams, in addition to a wide gathering of parents and community members.
This event is part of a series of community and awareness activities aimed at raising awareness on the importance of breastfeeding for the health of children and mothers, and at promoting sound practices that contribute to building a healthier and stronger generation.
