Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) joins its international partner, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in commemorating the World Pulses Day, highlighting the vital role of pulses in achieving food security, sustainable nutrition, and supporting agricultural livelihoods.
In line with its humanitarian and development commitment, Bena Charity affirms that supporting agricultural activities and farmers constitutes a core pillar of many of its interventions, through enhancing agricultural production, improving livelihoods, and strengthening the resilience of the most vulnerable communities, particularly amid the ongoing economic and humanitarian challenges.
Pulses represent an essential food source due to their high nutritional value, as well as their role in improving soil fertility and reducing environmental impact, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contributing to the development of more equitable and sustainable food systems.
