Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD), in partnership with the Local Authority in Al-Ma’afer District, Taiz Governorate, received a number of schools and educational sites following the completion of renovation and rehabilitation works implemented under the project:
“Small Hands, Big Dreams: Empowering Out of School Children (OOSC) and Children at Risk of Dropping Out (CRDO) through Formal and Non-Formal Education, Child Protection and Psychosocial Support (PSS) Services in Five Districts of Taiz Governorate, Yemen,” implemented in partnership with War Child and funded by European Union Humanitarian Aid.

The rehabilitation works covered 26 September School, Al-Ma’afer Al-Hujer School, 7 July School in Al-Ahad, Al-Jil Al-Jadeed School, Al-Sulahi School in Al-Mahjar, as well as the IDP compensatory education sites in Al-Maysar and Ad-khara.

The handover and acceptance process was conducted in the presence of representatives of the Local Authority in the district, led by Mr. Radwan Ahmed, Director of the Education Office in the district, along with the project team. The delegation reviewed the completed works and assessed the readiness of the sites to support the educational process and improve the learning environment for beneficiary children.

These interventions are part of the project’s efforts to improve educational infrastructure, provide safe and inclusive learning environments, and expand children’s access to and retention in education, particularly out-of-school children and those at risk of dropping out.
