Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD), in partnership with War Child Alliance and in coordination with the Taiz Governorate Education Office, is implementing a capacity-building program for 69 school principals, learning space supervisors, and education leaders across the districts of Salh, Al-Qahira, Al-Mudhaffar, Al-Ma’afer, and Mawza’a, as part of the project:
“Small Hands, Big Dreams: Empowering Out of School Children (OOSC) and Children at Risk of Dropping Out (CRDO) through Formal and Non-Formal Education, Child Protection and Psychosocial Support (PSS) Services in Five Districts of Taiz Governorate, Yemen,” funded by European Union Humanitarian Aid.
The three-day program aims to strengthen the capacities of local education leaders in early preparedness and crisis and disaster management, with a focus on developing and updating emergency plans, strengthening safety and security measures, and enhancing the readiness of educational institutions to respond effectively to emergencies.
The program includes practical training on developing emergency preparedness and response plans and strengthening safety and security procedures tailored to the risks and challenges facing educational institutions and local communities.
This intervention forms part of the project’s broader efforts to strengthen the resilience of the education system and its capacity to withstand and respond to emergencies, while ensuring that children—particularly the most vulnerable and those affected by displacement and flooding—continue to have safe and equitable access to education.
