The Protection Sector at Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) launched today the activities and interventions of the Women and Girls Community Center in its renewed form, as part of the project “Enhancing Resilience through the Provision of Lifesaving Multi-Sectoral Assistance” funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).
The center aims to provide a safe and supportive space for women and girls to express their needs freely and access multiple services, including economic empowerment, entrepreneurship for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), as well as individual and group psychosocial support sessions.
During the inauguration event, 20 girls and 10 teachers participated in creating a beautiful artistic mural, symbolizing the role of BCFHD in empowering women and girls, and reflecting creativity and collaboration in delivering protection services.
The event was attended by Ms. Amal Al-Aghbari, representing the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and Dr. Mahmoud Al-Bukari, Deputy Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Taiz, alongside members of the BCFHD administrative board and the project management team.
At the end of the ceremony, the Protection Sector extended its gratitude to all participants and contributors who made this day special for women and girls, reaffirming the organization’s ongoing commitment to empowering women and strengthening their resilience across all aspects of life.
