Bena Charity Co-Organizes Workshop on Medical Waste Management in Taiz.

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public health and promote environmental safety standards, Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) co-organized a specialized workshop implemented by the Scientific Professional Microbiologists Association, this morning in Taiz Governorate, titled:

“From Practice to Solutions: Medical Waste Management in Health Facilities – Together for a Safe and Healthy Environment.”

The workshop was conducted in coordination with the Public Health and Population Office.

 

The event was held under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Dr. Qassem Mohammed Buhaibeh, Minister of Public Health and Population, and Mr. Nabil Shamsan, Governor of Taiz, and supervised by the Public Health and Population Office in the governorate.

 

The workshop brought together 18 participants representing key stakeholders from government offices and hospitals. It aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and awareness of proper medical waste management practices and reduce associated health and environmental risks, contributing to safer healthcare environments.

 

The workshop was attended by several officials and leaders, including Mr. Waleed Al-Salami, Director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund; Dr. Fathi Shamsan, Deputy Director of the Health Office for Curative Medicine; and Eng. Jameel Al-Shujaa from the Environmental Health Department.

 

From Bena Charity, attendees included Dr. Abdulkarim Shamsan, Chairman of BCFHD, and Mr. Tareq Al-Hammadi, Executive Director. From Scientific Professional Microbiologists Association, Ms. Sawsan Jarallah, President of the Association; Mr. Amer Al-Sharjabi, Vice President; and Mr. Ayman Al-Qudsi, Secretary-General, were also present.

 

Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between government entities and civil society organizations to improve medical waste management systems and ensure adherence to health and environmental standards.

 

This workshop reflects Bena Charity’s continued commitment to fostering effective partnerships and supporting initiatives that improve the quality of health and environmental services in Taiz Governorate.
